Welcome to Q-SYS Level Zero Training!
00:08
My name is Patrick Heyn . . .
00:09
And I’m Nate Makaryk.
00:10
This is a one hour course that serves
00:12
as a primer for anyone who is brand new to Q-SYS,
00:14
or if you’re looking to start down the path of
00:16
any Q-SYS training certifications.
00:19
It’s called Level Zero for a reason—
00:21
if you have zero experience with Q-SYS,
00:24
you’re in the right place.
00:25
An hour from now you’ll have a much better
00:27
understanding of the features and functionality
00:29
of using the Q-SYS platform for all your audio, video,
00:32
and control needs, as well as the absolute basics
00:36
of how to navigate the software and
00:38
deploy your design to a Q-SYS Core.
00:40
You’ll also learn what all those words
00:42
he just said mean,
00:43
so don’t worry if you’re not there yet!
00:46
After you’re done with this course,
00:47
you might choose to continue your training
00:49
by following any of a few different paths,
00:52
some that are more pertinent to an audio
00:54
DSP designer, others for control programmers,
00:58
as well as courses focusing on video or remote management, etc.
01:03
No matter who you are,
01:03
you’re going to need the Q-SYS Designer software,
01:06
which is a free app you’ll use to design your Q-SYS system.
01:09
Go ahead and start downloading that now.
01:11
You won’t need to use it for the first handful of videos,
01:14
but once we start showing you the basics of the software,
01:17
it’d be a good idea to open it up and follow along on your own.
01:20
The videos are all ten minutes or less,
01:22
so you can take breaks whenever you like,
01:24
and at the end there will be a simple
01:27
multiple choice assessment to move on.
01:29
We’ll see you again at the end of the course,
01:31
with recommendations on where to go next once
01:33
you’ve finished this introductory class.
01:35
It’s worth noting that the Q-SYS platform
01:36
is constantly evolving, so we’re constantly
01:39
updating these training videos to keep up.
01:41
Some of the videos might be brand new,
01:44
while others might feel a little . . . older . . .
01:47
we’ve been doing this since 2011,
01:49
so forgive any changing haircuts you might notice.
01:52
And if something in the latest version of the software
01:54
is slightly different than what you see in one of these videos,
01:57
don’t worry, the functionality is still relevant.
02:00
That’s it for now, have fun!
