  • The Exam BK Test


    WELCOME TO THE BIG EXAM!

    (We could have called it something else, but this is what you’re going to call it anyway)

    If you want to go the distance and truly prove your programming skills, you are in the right place. The Big Exam will put you in the shoes of an engineer who has taken over a partially-completed design from his predecessor. Parts of it are finished, parts of it are broken, and other parts aren’t even started at all. You’ll need to demonstrate your mastery of control components, Block Controller, and Lua scripting in order to complete the scope of work.

    Successful completion of The Big Exam will qualify you for the Control & UCI Capstone Credential, the highest certification currently available from Q-SYS. These bragging rights will let your friends (and clients) know you’re one of the most elite Q-SYS programmers in town.

    Please note:

    1. You should expect to spend at least 10-16 hours working on The Big Exam. 
    2. Like we said, it’s Big.There are no Office Hours or assistance available on this exam, and the reviews you receive will only inform you of areas that have not successfully fulfilled the scope of work, without suggesting any method for correcting them.
    3. There are multiple active methods used to test for design authenticity. Any suspicion that the design is not wholly original will be met with great prejudice.
    4. As there is no new instruction tied to this exam, there are no AVIXA RU credits available for it.

    With these in mind, keep in mind that this exam is not mandatory after completing your previous Control & UCI courses. Each of those courses have their own certificate of completion already. The Big Exam is an additional step that takes the skills you have learned and applies them in a more complex scenario. It is intended for the bold, and the brave.
