Hardware and Software Overview

00:08
It's time to talk about the Seervision hardware.
00:11
So I'm here in the training room and of course,
00:13
I've got to Seervision server right here.
00:15
Now, one of the first things to be aware of with these servers is
00:19
that they come in single or dual channel variants,
00:22
and that just refers to the number of camera streams they can process simultaneously.
00:27
Whichever one you go for,
00:29
you've got a really powerful GPU inside which is processing those streams
00:33
and performing computer vision on them.
00:35
Now, in terms of the box itself,
00:37
we've got a front panel, of course,
00:39
with the Seervision logo and the power button,
00:42
and on the rear we've got quite a few connections,
00:45
some of those related to the motherboard and the GPU.
00:48
But all we really need to worry about is the data connection for ingesting the Q-SYS camera streams
00:53
and working with Q-SYS control,
00:55
and of course the power connection to power it.
01:00
Now once you've got your server connected to the network
01:02
and powered up,
01:03
we can have a look at how we discover it and how we get connected to the web user interface.
01:08
C Division uses a web based user interface,
01:11
so to access it, we just need to put the server's IP address into Google Chrome.
01:16
The server uses auto IP addressing by default,
01:18
so it will have a DHCP address if you have a DHCP server
01:22
and there will be a link local address in the 169.254 range.
01:26
If there's no direct server,
01:28
either way, we can use the same vision discovery tool
01:31
to discover all the servers on our local area network.
01:35
Just click find servers and servers.
01:37
And when you have the address type built into Google Chrome,
01:41
now it connect it to the server and we can see the servers and user interface.
01:45
This is where we will link the server to our cameras,
01:48
create tracking and trigger zones and create different types of camera shots and positions.
01:53
You can see that this is split into three sections in the center.
01:57
We have our camera preview and manual camera controls on the left we have a settings panel.
02:04
This is where we can control our tracking behavior,
02:06
create and edit various zones and toggle overlays on the camera stream.
02:10
For example, this computer vision overlay.
02:13
This shows us each person detected in the scene their unique ID number
02:17
and the points on their body that are being tracked.
02:20
Lastly, on the right hand side,
02:21
we have the preset panel where we can create containers shot
02:25
and position containers are what will be recalled by the Q-SYS Plug in to start and stop tracking.
02:31
But before we get into all of that,
02:32
we need to link sufficient increases together,
02:35
which we'll cover in the next video. See you there.
