Set up Seervision in Q-SYS Designer

00:07
Welcome back.
00:08
In this part of the training,
00:08
we're going to link Seervision and Q-SYS together,
00:11
which means giving Seervision direct control over our Q-SYS cameras
00:15
and using the Seervision plugin inside Q-SYS.
00:18
We're going to start off in Q-SYS Designer.
00:21
For our first example, we're just going to need one camera.
00:24
So I'm going to create a basic Q-SYS design with an NC 12x80 a mediacast router,
00:30
and I'm going to wire that into the USB bridge on my core.
00:33
Now let's return to the, Seervision user interface.
00:36
Take a look at the menu bar at the top of the page.
00:39
You can see there we have a /1 and a /2 after the server's IP address.
00:44
That's because this is a two channel server.
00:46
And those two buttons let you access the two separate instances of the service and software.
00:51
For now, we just want to configure the first instance.
00:54
So let's press slash one.
00:56
Now the first thing we need to do is connect our camera to Seervision so it can receive the stream
01:02
and control the camera That's done in the operations server.
01:06
01:08
Now, in the operations server, we have settings for network licensing and our camera connections.
01:14
We're going to focus on the PTU configuration section for now.
01:19
But what does PTU stand for?
01:21
It's actually a penguin transportation unit. not really.
01:28
PTU stands for Pan Tilt Unit and it comes from Seervision's broadcast background,
01:33
where you might be using cameras that have a separate pan tilt unit to the camera itself.
01:39
Now, of course, we're using Q-SYS and nc-series cameras
01:42
and we can select that as the PTU right here.
01:45
Of course, we need to enter the camera's IP address,
01:48
which you can find in Q-SYS Configurator,
01:50
if you're not sure what it is.
01:51
It might be a good idea to set this to a static address in Peripheral manager,
01:55
just in case you're working on a DHCP network and the camera's IP address changes after a reboot.
02:00
Next, we're going to tell Seervision the camera and the lens.
02:03
that’s attached to the PTU. Of course,
02:06
this is the same in a conferencing camera where everything's integrated.
02:09
So choose Q-SYS as the model and Q-SYS NC 1280 or 20 by 60 as the lens.
02:15
Lastly, we can invert the pan and the tilt for ceiling mounted cameras
02:19
and we can add pan and tilt limits if desired.
02:22
When you're ready, just click apply.
02:26
Now, before we leave the operations server,
02:28
we might want to adjust the IP settings.
02:30
The Q-SYS plug in is going to be connecting to the server via its IP address.
02:35
So it might be a good idea to set this to a static address If you're on a DHCP network.
02:41
When you're ready, just click on the arrow in the top left to go back to the main user interface.
02:48
Next, we need to link our camera stream to the
02:50
Seervision server as well as the PTU control that we've just configured.
