Nathan: Welcome to Q-SYS RoomSuite Manager training,
00:09
quite possibly the least in-depth Q-SYS training you'll ever encounter.
00:13
Patrick: Why, you might ask?
00:14
Well, because, as you may have figured out by now,
00:17
Q-SYS RoomSuite Modular System does almost all of the programming for you.
00:21
N- no, w- wait, don't turn the video off yet.
00:24
Nathan: Yeah, your participation is still required, but the level of commitment needed to deploy a room is greatly reduced, and that time-saving really scales when you deploy dozens of these systems at the same time.
00:35
We'll talk about that a little bit later.
00:37
Patrick: Hopefully, you're already familiar with the various peripherals that can be integrated into Q-SYS RoomSuite Modular System,
00:43
and if you've made it this far, you already know the benefits of using this system.
00:48
Nathan: So let's dive into the tactical side here of actually getting the system up and running.
00:53
We'll start by outlining a pretty typical deployment, and then we'll build it out using Q-SYS RoomSuite Manager.
00:58
We're gonna build a medium-sized conference room with two wall displays, tabletop microphones, and a handful of loudspeakers.
01:07
Let's start at the conference table itself.
01:09
This is where our input device lives, the QIO-VEN4.
01:14
It can ingest a local HDMI or USB-C source at the table for any BYOD presentation or conferencing applications.
01:22
And we'll also connect an NM-T1 microphone and a TSC-70G3 touchscreen controller on the table, also via Ethernet.
01:31
You may realistically have a different number of devices in your system, but we're gonna keep this system as simple as possible just for demonstration purposes.
01:39
Patrick: The QIO-VEN4 is connected via an Ethernet cable to the RMP-100,
01:45
which, as you remember, is the processor, and the network switch, and video router, and USB bridging point all rolled into one.
01:54
Note that the specific network port on the RMP-100 and the QIO-VEN4, which must be used for this connection, are clearly marked.
02:04
This room has a PC in the credenza beneath the two displays, so we'll connect the PC via both HDMI for video routing and USB for audio and camera bridging for the conferencing application running on that PC.
02:20
Next, we'll connect the NC-90G2 camera for video conferencing, the NL-SB42 soundbar that is mounted under the displays, and two NL ceiling speakers.
02:32
Finally, we'll connect our two HDMI outputs to the two displays and the AUX1 Ethernet port to our main corporate network.
02:41
Nathan: And that's it.
02:42
Our conference room hardware is installed, so all that remains is to use Q-SYS RoomSuite Manager to make the magic happen.
02:49
Patrick: First things first, once everything has power,
02:51
turn on your room's display and make sure that the proper input sources are configured,
02:56
because RoomSuite is delivering this boot screen containing the IP address of your RMP-100.
03:01
You'll obviously need this to connect to the system and configure it.
03:06
Nathan: Be sure your laptop's network settings are configured so your IP address is on the same subnet as the RMP-100,
03:13
and then simply open any new web browser window and enter that IP address.
03:18
That's right, straight into the web browser.
03:20
No Q-SYS Designer required.
03:22
Patrick: That's actually a really important point.
03:24
It isn't even possible to configure a Q-SYS RoomSuite Modular System using the traditional Q-SYS Designer software.
03:31
Nathan: Yeah.
03:32
Now, the first time you connect to the RMP-100, you might get a warning screen that looks like this.
03:38
Patrick: Now, normally, if you were connecting to an untrustworthy destination, this might be a cause for alarm.
03:44
But we can confidently bypass this warning.
03:47
As with the Q-SYS Core Manager you may be familiar with,
03:51
the configuration environment for Q-SYS RoomSuite Modular is entirely web-based and hosted on the RMP-100 itself.
03:58
So simply bypass that warning and get to the good stuff.
04:03
Nathan: For any of you familiar with our other web-based interfaces, such as Q-SYS Core Manager, this will look mighty familiar.
04:10
We have primary information in the main pane of the screen and navigation options on the left-hand side.
04:15
Patrick: In fact, it may look so familiar that you probably think you could figure the rest out from here without any more help.
04:22
And you know what?
04:23
You're probably right.
04:24
Nathan: Yeah.
04:25
Patrick: Q-SYS RoomSuite Modular System is designed to be easy to configure with minimal training.
04:30
So we're done.
04:33
Thanks for joining us.
04:34
It's been a ride.
04:36
Nathan: However, if it's your first time with Q-SYS and/or you'd just rather make sure you have a good understanding of all the options along the way,
04:43
that's what we're here for.
04:44
In the next videos, we'll start configuring our system.
04:47
Don't even bother going and brewing the coffee.
04:50
This will be done before you know it.
04:51
Patrick: Let's move on whenever you're ready.
