So, my name is Ed Viser,
00:02
and I'm the senior manager of professional and managed services.
00:06
For a long time,
00:08
regional field application engineers have occasionally gotten involved in projects
00:15
at way more than a pre-sales application engineering role.
00:19
To the point where they were creating code and
00:22
commissioning for systems that would be going into production.
00:25
Lo and behold, those were great experiences.
00:28
We eventually decided to formalize this concept
00:32
and take a little bit of what was kind of a secret handshake out of it and put it on a price list.
00:37
And let every Q-SYS dealer know that we've got a
00:40
dedicated team available to them for your high-impact,
00:45
repeatable, oftentimes complex Q-SYS use cases.
00:50
My name is Hope Roth.
00:51
I am a Professional Services engineer.
00:54
We are not trying to come in and say that we know things, you know, absolutely better than them.
01:00
You know your client, you know how you like to do things.
01:02
So we try to work within their process, first and foremost.
01:06
So we start by reviewing your design and we ask any questions.
01:09
Anywhere where we can't into it,
01:11
we'll make a recommendation if we should have a dedicated Pro Services engineer on site or remote.
01:17
But the real work is then creating the designer file,
01:20
which is most of the time going to include customized user interfaces.
01:25
So, the thing that's sort of interesting about AV is the UCI is almost always the afterthought,
01:30
and it's often created by someone who has no interest in making it.
01:34
The UCI is how the customer experiences the system.
01:37
If you upgrade just the color scheme on the touch panel,
01:40
they will often think that you upgraded the whole room.
01:42
And we punch through it aggressively,
01:45
and we break it, and we fix it, and we take those notes about what broke first.
01:49
We introduce all of these discoveries to that end user and their dealer, and we hand that file off.
01:56
Our goal is to give you the tools that you can use in your future jobs.
02:01
Whatever we create,
02:02
you can use and hopefully go out and make some really
02:04
great systems for the rest of your customers.
02:06
The very best case scenario for Q-SYS is that you like it so much,
02:10
you deploy it 25 more times, and we don't even know about it.
