In this video we are going to show you how to use the state-of-the-art
0:11
QSC RapidDeploy™ rigging system featured in the L Class line array loudspeakers.
0:15
QSC RapidDeploy™ is the industry’s easiest rigging system.
0:19
Ergonomically-designed for a single operator to be able to attach and detach loudspeakers
0:23
as well as to adjust the splay angles between each loudspeaker in the array.
0:27
The complete rigging mechanism is entirely integrated in the strong and lightweight L Class loudspeakers ABS plastic enclosure,
0:34
meaning no external pins or mechanical parts are needed to deploy and adjust the array.
0:39
The all-in-one rigging system is safe, intuitive and straight-forward
0:43
allowing optimization of the overall event production time.
0:46
Let’s take a look at how it works and then we’ll take a look at it in action.
0:55
The hardware controls are grouped into two parts:
0:58
Enclosure attachment controls and enclosure angle adjustment controls.
1:02
The Enclosure attachment controls include the Front Strikes
1:05
Front hooks,
1:06
Rear Hooks
1:07
and Locking Lever, which has three positions.
1:10
The up position releases the loudspeaker that is connected below it.
1:13
In middle position, the loudspeaker is prepared to receive a connection from another loudspeaker.
1:18
This position is selected before attaching a loudspeaker below it.
1:21
The bottom position is locked.
1:24
These controls are used to connect the L Class loudspeakers together when creating an array.
1:29
Once connected together the Angle Adjustment controls are used to change and set the splay angles between each loudspeaker.
1:35
The Enclosure Angle Adjust controls include the Angle lever,
1:38
Angle Lever Reset,
1:40
and the Angle Bar Lift.
1:49
Alright! Let's connect another loudspeaker to the array.
1:51
Let's do it...
1:52
You got this…
1:55
You're not gonna help?....
1:56
To connect a loudspeakers to the bottom of another,
1:59
set the locking lever on the receiving top loudspeaker to the middle “Add+” position.
2:05
Set the front strikes  of the connecting bottom loudspeaker into the bottom hooks of the receiving top loudspeaker.
2:13
Now, swing the rear of the connecting loudspeaker up and connect it to the rear receiving hooks until it clicks.
2:19
Set the locking lever to the down “Locked” position on the receiving loudspeaker to lock the loudspeakers together.
2:25
That’s it!
2:26
Continue to connect the boxes in this fashion until the desired array is complete.
2:31
To disconnect and remove loudspeakers from one another
2:34
set the locking lever to the up “Remove” position on both sides of the upper loudspeaker
2:39
while holding the handle of the bottom loudspeaker with one hand.
2:42
You’ll find that you’ll need to apply a little bit of pressure
2:43
lifting the bottom loudspeaker before the locking levers will release into the Release position
2:48
This will release the lower loudspeaker from the rear hooks and it will swing down being secured still by the front hooks
2:54
Reset the locking lever on the upper loudspeaker to the middle “Add+” position.
2:58
This is a preliminary step to keep the loudspeaker primed for the next time the loudspeakers are connected together
3:03
Now, simply lift the lower loudspeaker off of the front hooks and get on with your day.
3:08
It’s that simple
3:15
Once two or more loudspeakers are connected and locked together,
3:18
the splay angles between each box can be adjusted using the Enclosure Angle Adjustment controls.
3:24
Press the angle adjustment lever on either side to prime the angle lever to be repositioned
3:29
With the Levers depressed,
3:30
simply lift the lower loudspeaker using the rear handles until it clicks into the next position.
3:36
If another adjustment is needed, press the Levers once more and lift to the position.
3:41
If transitioning the angle down, simply press the levers again,
3:44
pull up on the loudspeaker slightly until you feel
3:46
the current angle release and then lower the loudspeaker into the next position.
3:51
Each loudspeaker is equipped with 3 angle options. 1.5 degrees,
3:53
1.5 degrees,
3:55
6 degrees and 12 degrees.
3:57
These angles are indicated on the Angle Bar Lift.
4:01
If the Angle adjustment levers are primed and no angle adjustment is required,
4:05
you can press the Angle Lever Reset buttons to reset the angle levers.
4:16
The angles in a larger array can be adjusted individually one at a time.
4:19
Or the entire array can be adjust in a single maneuver
4:23
by first depressing all of the angle adjustment Levers on the Loudspeakers in the array,
4:27
gripping the handles on the bottom loudspeaker, and last, slowly lifting up
4:32
As you raise the bottom loudspeaker,
4:33
all of the loudspeakers will begin to click into their next position.
4:37
And you can reverse the adjustment as well.
4:39
We call this- The Back Crack.
4:42
And there you have it.
4:44
With two hands only, the operator is able to fully deploy and secure the array without the need for external hardware.
4:49
A clean, elegant and professional appearance is maintained
4:53
without external pins or lanyards to be damaged or lost
4:56
The chances of mishandling have been completely removed,
4:59
providing safety for the operator and production crew
5:02
as well as the audience.
5:04
You feel pretty good about that don’t you?
5:06
That’s all for this video. Thanks for watching
5:08
and continue on to the next lesson whenever you’re ready.
