CP Series: Floor Monitor

Hi everybody, this is Chris from QSC.

In this video I'll be showing you how to use the CP series loudspeakers as live stage monitors.

With its compact size and light weight,

the CP series is a portable and efficient floor monitor

that'll give you great sound on stage without taking up much real estate.

Typically, if a loudspeaker is placed on the floor as a wedge monitor,

it requires a fair amount of EQ to not only make it stable with live microphones,

but also have a balanced sound that isn't too bass-heavy

from frequencies that are reflecting off the ground at the performers.

Obviously that can take a lot of time and EQ to set up properly,

but not with a CP Series speaker.

Here's how the Floor Monitor contour fixes that,

and saves you time.

Start by connecting an auxiliary output from our mixer to input A on the CP loudspeaker.

Next: select the “Floor Monitor” contour on the dial.

This setting gives the loudspeaker a full, balanced sound when used as a wedge monitor,

and added stability when live microphones are nearby.

We've done all the work for you so that with just the turn of a knob,

you're ready to go.

Now that we have the floor monitor contour set on the loudspeaker,

our stage system is much more stable

and less prone to feedback

and we didn't have to use any external EQ or mixers to get this clear, consistent sound.
