00:15
Let’s take a look at our output parameters.
00:18
There are 2 ways to access this.
00:20
The first way is to touch any one of the outputs on the left that you would like to work with.
00:26
Then touch the gray box over that master fader.
00:30
In this case the main mix.
00:33
and you can see that the output parameters are displayed in much the same that the input parameters were
00:39
with a similar pallet of tools.
00:42
Now we’ll choose home button to return to the main mix window.
00:47
Another way to access your aux output parameters is to choose one of the aux banks from the mini faders at the top.
00:54
Then press the grey box above whichever aux you would like to work with.
00:59
For now, we’ll choose aux 5.
01:02
You can see your parameter options listed across the top.
01:06
Right now we are in the overview page foraux 5,
01:10
which displays the most critical show controls on one page.
01:16
The next screen is a 6 band parametric eq.
01:20
Next is a graphic eq screen.
01:23
A graphic eq displays fixed frequencies with a graphic representation.
01:29
Next is the Anti-feedback screen.
01:32
This feature will automatically find out and notch offending frequencies that are feeding back from the output.
01:38
For example your stage monitors.
01:42
The next screen is the limiter.
01:45
The controls on the limiter are the same as the compressor on your input channels
01:50
but with the option for a much higher ratio of compression.
01:55
Limiters are often used as a means of protection to keep loudspeakers from clipping
02:00
or to protect in-ear monitor users from unforeseen level spikes.
02:05
At the top of the screen you’ll notice the option to use it as a compressor instead of a limiter.
02:12
The next screen is labeled Auxes.
02:15
The TouchMix 30 Pro gives you the unique option of sending any of Auxes 1-8 to any of Auxes 9-14.
02:24
We will discuss specific use cases for this in a later module.
02:29
The next screen shows various factory presets for your QSC loudspeakers.
02:35
This preset info button here will give you additional info about the preset you’re using.
02:41
These are the same DSP settings that are available on the loudspeakers themselves.
02:47
Quick note: If you’re already using a loudspeaker preset on the loudspeaker itself,
02:53
we don’t recommend that you use a factory preset on the mixer at the same time.
02:58
You have the option to save your own aux presets by toggling from factory to user.
03:04
At the bottom there are various parameters that you can omit from a recalled preset if you wish.
03:11
The next screen is the setup screen.
03:14
Right here you can title the name of your aux.
03:18
This button allows you to link 2 channels together to create a stereo pair.
03:24
The reset button will return the channel to the factory default.
03:29
In this section here we have Delay.
03:33
You can delay the output to time align loudspeakers
03:36
or perhaps to sync the audio output with a video feed.
03:40
The “in” button will be highlighted blue when it’s engaged.
03:45
This here is a channel safe button.
03:48
If you press it, it will be highlighted saying safe meaning that any scene changes you make will not affect this output channel.
03:56
Again, only available on the TouchMix-30 Pro
03:59
This next section offers us our pick-off options.
04:04
By default all auxes are set to Pre Fader.
04:08
Pre Fader means that the main fader for a channel will NOT change the volume of that channel in the aux mix
04:14
but all EQ and dynamics from that channel ARE being used in that aux mix.
04:20
This setting is widely used for stage monitors and in-ear monitors.
04:25
Post Fader means that when you change the main input faders, it WILL change the volume in the aux mix.
04:33
In addition, all EQ and dynamics from input channels ARE being used in that aux mix.
04:40
One might use the Post Fader setting if they are running a discrete broadcast mix
04:45
and at the same time running Front of House.
04:49
Pre Dynamics means that dynamics like gate and compression will NOT be used in the aux
04:54
mix but that EQs WILL be used in the aux mix.
04:59
This setting might be used for example, if a drummer doesn’t want to hear any gates or compression on his kit,
05:05
or a singer doesn’t want to hear compression on his or her voice.
05:09
Pre All means that what’s being sent to the aux is coming straight off the pre amps.
05:16
This means no EQ, no dynamics, and none of the changes from the input channels’ main faders will affect the volume of that aux.
05:25
This is an advanced utility function that could be used for recording purposes
05:30
or for sending untouched stems to a broadcast mixer.
05:35
There are numerous creative applications for this setting.
05:39
In this sections we can see where this aux has been assigned.
05:43
For example, you could assign all your stage monitor aux mixes to DCA,
05:48
just in case some unforeseen feedback situation occurred, you could bring down that DCA until you got it under control.
05:57
Here we see that auxes can be assigned to mute groups as well.
06:01
And that covers it for basic TouchMix navigation.
06:05
So now you should be able to comfortably navigate around your mixer and start building a mix.
