Intro to Q-SYS Platform Overview

Welcome to your first module Q-SYS platform overview.

We're going to give you just like a real informal casual  

talk about the videos that you are about to see

and we're going to do this for every single one of the modules that you'll be doing

throughout the course of the sales training.

Some of these videos you're going to watch right now come from the level one training.

The first ones are going to take you through a very basic high level vision of what Q-SYS is.

What a basic signal path looks like from the core.

Through the network to peripherals, things like that.

And then we're talking about getting all the way  

to third-party devices and connecting all those various

disparate things that make up a Q-SYS system.

Yeah we're going to talk about third-party devices and Native devices as well as

we're going to go through um all of the Q-SYS product categories in the platform.

What we are not going to do is go through every product because the reality is

probably by the time we finish editing this video

we will have three new products and this video will be obsolete.

Right, which always happens with all of our videos that's fine,

that's right, but we are going to talk about the major product categories.

Right, so you'll see what and this one we'll talk a lot about video and cameras.

We have a very fun video you're going to watch in which Patrick's going to eat a burrito.

Yeah the answer to the question that you're going  

to ask is how many burritos did I eat during that shoot?

Yeah the answer was too many.

and then we're going to talk about some high-level things about Q-SYS.

Talking about different ways that different topologies you can apply  

Q-SYS to for different types of installation.

Yeah, this is going to help you when it comes time to recommending the right core for

your customers, but we're not diving deep into the specifics of the software or anything like that.

This is all high level stuff in this first module.

Yeah, there is one video that you're going to again.

It's gonna show a little bit of Q-SYS designer software.

I'll reiterate what I said in the intro,

you are not going to be held responsible for learning Q-SYS designer software,

but in this particular instance,

it makes sense to talk about the signal flow in the context of Q-SYS designer software.

You will not have to learn Q-SYS design software unless you choose.
